1. Who we are

MarkPDF is an independent product. We are not a data company. Our business model is selling software (Pro and Lifetime licenses), not monetizing user data.

2. Data we do not collect

• Your name, email address, or any contact information
• Your IP address or location
• The Markdown content you write or edit
• The PDFs you generate
• Device or browser fingerprints
• Behavioral or analytics data

3. What is stored locally on your device

MarkPDF uses your browser's localStorage to remember two things — both entirely on your own device:

• Export counter — a simple number tracking how many PDFs you've generated this month (for the free tier limit). Stored under the key markpdf_usage. Resets on the 1st of each month. Never transmitted to us.
• License key — if you purchase a Pro or Lifetime plan, your key is stored locally so the app recognizes you on return visits. Stored under markpdf_license. You can delete it at any time.

You can view and delete all of this data via your browser's developer tools: Application → Local Storage → markpdf.app.

4. PDF export — temporary processing

When you export a PDF, your Markdown is sent over HTTPS to our rendering server, which converts it to a PDF and returns it to your browser. This is the only moment your content leaves your device. We do not log this content, do not store it, and do not retain any record of the request beyond standard infrastructure-level access logs (which contain only HTTP metadata, not content, and are auto-purged within 7 days).

5. License key validation

When you activate a Pro license, we call the Lemon Squeezy API to verify your key. Only the key string is sent — no other data. Lemon Squeezy (our payment processor) handles purchase data under their own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing it at lemonsqueezy.com.

6. Cookies and tracking

MarkPDF does not use cookies. We do not run third-party analytics, advertising scripts, or tracking pixels of any kind. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no Hotjar.

7. Third-party services

• Vercel — our hosting provider. May log standard HTTP request metadata. See their privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• Lemon Squeezy — payment processor for Pro and Lifetime purchases. Handles billing data independently.
• Google Fonts — loaded in the browser for theme typography. Google's privacy policy applies to that request.

8. Children

MarkPDF is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Since we collect no contact information, we cannot notify you directly — check this page periodically if you care about updates.
